MVA IGCSE and A Level Results, Academic Year 2025/26

MVA measures success on an individual level, valuing student progress above league tables and overall grades. However, much like last year’s results, the 2025/26 academic results showcase an extraordinary year of academic achievement across both our IGCSE and MVA6 Sixth Form cohorts. We are so proud of all of our students at MVA, who sat their exams this year in private exam centres or at home through Pearson's Remote Invigilation Service (RIS).

IGCSE Achievements: Outperforming National Benchmarks

Our Year 11 students delivered outstanding top-tier outcomes, significantly outpacing UK national benchmarks. At the time of writing, overall 72.2% of IGCSE grades were awarded 4+ (compared to the 67.0% national average), an increase on our 2025 results (68.4%). Furthermore, top-level 7+ grades rose to 31.7% (up from 23.5% in 2025); these results are 10 percentage points above the UK national average of 21.8%.

Core subjects saw remarkable outcomes:

  • English Language: 95.9% achieved Grade 4+, with 53.9% scoring top 7–9 grades.

  • Mathematics: 72.5% achieved Grade 4+ (well above the national math standard).

  • Remote Invigilation Service (RIS): For 124 home-invigilated students, top 7–9 grades rose to 30.5% (up from 22.7% last year), proving that accessible testing environments remove barriers to high attainment.

These results tell a powerful story. Many of these students came to MVA midway through their IGCSEs, while needing additional learning support or recovering from mental health challenges. With dedicated support from their MVA personal mentors and teachers, they turned potential setbacks into record-breaking success.

Our second MVA6 cohort was a small but distinctive group of 54 students.  A quarter of them are elite student athletes, balancing professional-level sport with their studies, going on to exciting futures in their sport as well as their next steps academically.

Across MVA6 A Level entries, 15% achieved A*–A, 46% secured A*–C, and 74% reached A*–E.  In specialised pathways, students achieved a 100% A*–C pass rate in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and a 100% Distinction/Distinction* rate in BTEC Esports.

With 50% of our MVA6 cohort receiving SEND support (more than double the 21% national average) and 13% holding an EHCP (compared to 6% nationally), our results highlight the strength, resilience, and unique perspectives across our entire student body. We are thrilled that those students are now moving on to something exciting of their own.

Around 20% of the cohort sat a reduced number of exams this summer, and seven students made this explicit choice to safeguard their mental health, a decision MVA fully supported. Headline grades never capture the personal mountain a student has climbed just to reach this point. Our results highlight the strength, resilience, and unique perspectives across our entire student body.

As with our IGCSE cohort, percentages have never been the whole picture at MVA, and this year is no exception. What we're most proud of is where our students are heading next, and how they got there.

Our graduates are moving on to study a range of subjects from Management Science and Biomedical Science to Nursing, Creative Writing and Computer Science at universities including:

  • The London School of Economics
  • The University of Sheffield
  • Newcastle University
  • The University of Surrey
  • Liverpool John Moores University
  • The University of Kent

Others are stepping directly into sport at the highest level: one graduate is racing full-time in F4 for Prema Racing within the F1 Academy pathway, two are taking up sporting scholarships at US colleges, and others are continuing to compete in golf, tennis and dressage, alongside further study. Some are heading straight into employment, pursuing further qualifications, or setting off on a gap year adventure. Each journey is equal cause for immense pride.

For some of our MVA6 students, Pearson's RIS offered a route to sitting final exams they wouldn't otherwise have been able to access; a smaller, but no less determined, group faced their own particular set of challenges this summer.

Praise for Our Students

Suzanne Lindley, MVA Principal, said:

“On behalf of the entire school community, I want to extend my warmest congratulations and admiration for the immense hard work, resilience, and dedication our A Level and GCSE students have poured into their studies. Every grade achieved today reflects an individual journey of perseverance through challenge, and we are immensely proud of the personal effort and growth demonstrated by each and every one of you.”

Matthew Morris, Head of Sixth Form, added:

"Success looks different for everyone, which is why we are proud of each individual young person at MVA. Our flexible learning model was designed to meet students where they are — whether they arrived aiming for top grades or looking for a tailored, supportive environment. These results are a direct testament to each young person's dedication, alongside the tireless guidance of our teachers and mentors. Congratulations to everyone!"

Results do not define our young people

As our CEO and Founder, Hugh Viney wrote this Results Day, one exam can't measure a young person's future. Exam results deserve to be celebrated, but they were never designed to capture resilience, creativity, confidence or the ability to think on your feet, and those are exactly the qualities that carry our students furthest, whether that's onto a lecture hall floor, a racetrack, or a stage of their own choosing.

“That's the thinking behind everything we do at MVA: not changing what students learn, but changing how they learn it, so more of them get the chance to show what they're capable of.”

An extremely heartfelt congratulations

On behalf of everyone at MVA, we are so proud of every one of our students this results season. Wherever life takes you next, we hope your time at MVA has helped give you the best possible start.
