MVA Tutors, Minerva's multi-award winning tutoring service, is proud to announce that it is the chosen provider in a new scheme providing free online tutoring to serving Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary Families.
In partnership with the Naval Children's Charity and Greenwich Hospital, the Go Learn programme seeks to support secondary school-aged children of naval families at key academic stages including GCSEs, A Levels, Scottish Nationals and Highers, as well as providing specialist progression support for students with additional needs.
Students receive up to 16 hours of free one-to-one tutoring per academic year, from MVA Tutor's world-class and award-winning tutors, either focused on a single subject or spread across core topics, and all scheduled flexibly at a time that suits the child best, even when they're posted overseas.
Students also get access to the NCC’s established triage system, supported by a dedicated Triage Caseworker to ensure each student receives the specific academic and pastoral support that they need.
Our triage team already plays a vital role in supporting Naval families facing a wide range of challenges. Embedding the education triage function within this team ensures each family receives a high quality, holistic assessment—particularly crucial for children with additional needs, those out of school, or those navigating complex educational transitions.
– Clare S., Chief Executive of the Naval Children’s Charity
MVA Tutors is deeply proud to support this community who, in addition to all the challenges any child may face in their education, are also more likely to see disruption to their education due to a need to relocate.
Our partnership with the Naval Children's Charity is thriving, and the real winners are the students. Together, we aren’t just offering academic tuition; we are providing stability, boosting confidence, and helping children from naval families reach their full potential. It is a privilege to collaborate with a charity so dedicated to supporting its community.
