Do you need to see my child's previous school reports?

We may ask to see previous school reports to help our teachers and mentors transition them into our style of learning.

I'm joining from outside the UK, what do I need to know?

Switching to the British Curriculum is usually straightforward. Sometimes we advise pupils that it might benefit them to move up or down a year group, reflecting how academically advanced they are for their age.

If my child joins part-way through the academic year are the fees discounted?

Yes, you'll only pay a portion of the total fees, based on the half term in which your child joins.

Might my child's home country have rules against joining MVA?

You can join MVA from any country in the world where homeschooling is legal. See here for a full list.

What if I've studied a subject with a different exam board in the past?

It’s usually not a problem, though it can depend on the subject. If you’re unsure, our Admissions Team can advise you. If needed, we can also arrange extra support through our sister organisation, Minerva Tutors.

What if my child lives in a different time zone?

That's fine, though we recommend studying from within 5 hours of UK time for the best experience.

What academic criteria are there to join MVA?

We welcome pupils in Years 7 to 11 from all academic backgrounds, including those who’ve been home educated. All we ask is that your child is aged 11–18 and ready to engage with self-study. For entry into A Levels, please check the specific subject requirements listed in our A Level Subject List.
