Local Authorities face a difficult challenge.
When children find their needs aren't met in the mainstream and fall through the cracks, LAs are tasked with finding an alternative to ensure those children still get an education.
Historically, this hasn't been an easy process. And it still isn't. Every child is different and no one solution is guaranteed to work for every child.
MVA, however, is striving to be a one-stop shop for meeting the needs of any child, wherever possible, however we can, with three distinct approaches.

Sometimes, when the mainstream just isn't right, the best option for a child is to join MVA's Ofsted-registered, DfE-accredited, online classroom entirely.
This can take many forms, and we've been working hard to ensure that this path is as smooth and seamless as possible, regardless of a child's personal situation or EHCP status, avoiding disruption and getting learning back on track.
Students can be dual-enrolled with their previous school, or transferred fully to MVA, with several funding options available.
This path is often the most impactful, and routinely sees attendance and engagement skyrocket almost immediately. Last year, MVA's dual-enrolled and LA funded students had an attendance rate of over 95%. Every single one of those students had been considered 'persistently absent' before transferring.
Fully online education isn't right for every child. But, when it is, it is utterly transformational.

When a student needs immediate, tailored intervention, MVA Tutors are ready to deliver one-to-one support across all subjects and age ranges.
Whether a child just needs some extra personalised support, or requires a focused and dedicated learning experience, MVA's tutors are award-winning, highly qualified, and fully equipped to accommodate complex educational needs, sensitive mental health challenges, and more - all while providing world-class tutoring.
Minerva's tutoring service actually pre-dates MVA, and has been an industry leader for more than a decade. Striving to turn the tutoring business into a more professional, organised system, Minerva Tutors has won the Best Tutoring Company Award at the National Tutoring Awards for the past two years in a row.

For students who feel left behind by traditional systems and need rapid re-engagement, or children for whom standard GCSEs may not be the right fit, MVA Hybrid delivers innovative packages like our two-term Functional Skills programme, helping learners re-engage with education and achieve qualifications that open doors.
MVA Hybrid partners with LAs and schools to provide MVA's award-winning approach to teaching and pastoral care to students outside of our virtual classrooms, to help every child ensure that they get the most out of their education.
MVA Hybrid's Functional Skills programme is a Level 2 qualification, equivalent to a GCSE pass, and takes place in weekly online lessons in small classes sized 3-10, taught by MVA teachers over two terms.
