MVA teams up with Lloyds Banking Group to teach young people about money management

We’re very proud to announce that MVA has launched a series of educational films with Lloyds Banking Group, to empower young people with the financial skills needed to properly manage their money as young adults.

The collaboration, available through Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland’s websites, is a five-part ‘bite-size’ video series created through MVA studio, designed to give kids a solid foundation in financial literacy, covering everything from budgeting, to saving, to choosing a bank account.

One of the key principles when I founded MVA was to make sure our students are prepared for the world after school, and financial literacy is a fundamental part of that - it is one of the most important skills we can pass on to young people.

This comes at a particularly poignant time, as a spotlight falls on financial education in schools. Recently, Peter Bedford MP introduced a 10 Minute Rule Bill to Parliament, aiming to mandate financial education for all young people aged 4 to 18 in English schools – something I think is long overdue.

To be a part of this changing national conversation is something I am very proud of and passionate about, as I think school has gradually drifted away from its original purpose – preparing young people for life.

A massive well done to Kate Meeks and the MVA Studio team, these videos are a fantastic resource, freely available to any and all who need them.

Life is often about making mistakes and learning from them, but money is not an area you want to be getting wrong too often. Nor does it need to be one.
