Minerva Virtual Academy Athletes Sweep Berkhamsted Invitational

MVA golfers put in a stellar performance at the SchoolsGolf Berkhamsted Golf Club Invitational, taking first, second and third place, and putting on "some of the best pure golf of the day".

First place was claimed by Henry Bale, who was praised for both his skill and consistency across the board, closely followed by teammates (and classmates!) Oliver O’Dell and George Lancaster in second and third places respectively.

Not only did this nicely fill out the podium with MVA talent, the squad also took home the overall team prize, narrowly beating out Reed's School to the trophy.

This is an enormous achievement, and we're deeply proud of the team for their performance both individually and as a collective, being model ambassadors for Minerva and our thriving athlete community.

MVA's flexible and adaptable approach to learning means that our young sports prodigies can fully place their focus where it is needed without worrying about or needing to sacrifice their education.

None of the team who headed to the invitational on Monday will have missed any school, with studies on an online platform accessible from anywhere whenever they are ready, and live lessons recorded for later rewatching if the original time clashes with any sporting events.

On top of this, every student has a suite of sporting professionals to support and guide them through their careers, in everything from time management to handling success.

What this leaves is young athletes free to give their all to their sport when it matters most. Clearly, it has paid off.
