Out and About: Spring 2026 Trips So Far

It's only Easter, and MVA students have already been up and down the country for a fantastic range of in-person trips and events. Students have been learning, building, problem-solving, code-cracking, skiing, and thinking about the future together, offline and face-to-face.

It's a crucial part of what makes Minerva's community so special, despite our ample virtual social spaces, there's nothing quite like intentional in-person socialisation to build the kinds of friendships that can last a lifetime.

Which is why we've already had a suite of trips this year, before spring has even fully sprung.

So far, students have headed to:

  • The Legoland Discovery Centre in Birmingham, where they were able to build, learn and design with everyone's favourite colourful bricks, testing their problem solving abilities.
  • Bletchley Park, where Alan Turing famously cracked the Enigma Code. Students were invited to test their own code-breaking skills, and explore the historic, and carefully restored grounds.
  • Yorkshire Wildlife Park Ltd, known for its huge, naturalistic enclosures, where they learned about conservation efforts and got to see many fantastic creatures up close, including polar bears, rhinos, leopards and red pandas.
  • The UCAS Discovery Day, where students thinking about their futures beyond MVA's virtual halls were able to explore and engage with academic giants like Cambridge, UCL, and King’s College London, as well as global brands such as Dyson and UBS. This trip was particularly well attended, with students flying in from The Hague and Poland to join their peers for the fair.
  • The Tamworth Snowdome, hitting the real-snow slopes with opportunities for skiing and snowboarding at any level from total beginner to winter sports veteran.

And that's not including the 40+ fantastic clubs, or the countless sporting events that have been flying the Minerva flag.

We'd like to thank all of our students who have attended any of these trips recently - they are one of the core pillars of our thriving community, but they would be nothing without the passion and enthusiasm the students bring.

Here's to another term of excellent excursions after the Easter Break!
