Minerva Virtual Academy (MVA) is proud to announce that it has partnered with Rosmini Hybrid Education Hub (formerly Loughborough Amherst School) in order to keep the educational centre of the community open.
Students will have access to all of MVA's award-winning teaching and learning platforms, whilst still being able to take advantage of Rosmini's beautiful grounds, dedicated staff, and in-person activities.
This is significant because it represents the development of something new, somewhere between the traditional bricks-and-mortar model and the fully online school that MVA has become known for championing.
Fully online learning can be life changing for many many children who find that mainstream physical education doesn't meet their needs, or it overwhelms them, or it simply doesn't fit into their lifestyle and forces them to choose between their happiness and their grades.
But there are still a minority of students who, while they may struggle with traditional schooling for similar reasons, also don't mesh with a fully online environment.
Perhaps they find it difficult to focus at home - we should know, MVA is a fully online organisation, and yet several of us regularly head to the office to get in some focus time and collaborate.
Maybe they find it hard to maintain friendships without regular face-to-face interaction - who among us hasn't struggled to figure out the tone of an ambiguous message or enigmatic emoji?
For the particularly self-aware students among us, some know that self-motivation is their weakness, and they need the presence of someone in the room to keep them on track.
For these children, a hybrid model like Rosmini may be the perfect compromise.
More flexibility, more individual support, all the advantages of an in-person setting.
Loughborough Amherst was due to close earlier this year, but a member of the leadership team happened to be the aunt of an MVA student, and so reached out to see if anything could be done.
The resulting arrangement means that a local community doesn't lose its school, and MVA's world-class teaching is made more accessible than ever.
What's more, any MVA students in the Loughborough area will also be welcome to join any in-person sessions if they wish.
In short, education is more powerful and effective when children can choose to learn in the way that suits them best. More options ultimately means happier children, better grades, and a generation better equipped for the future.
Rosmini Hybrid Education Hub will be running taster sessions throughout September and launching fully in January, head to rosminihybrid.com for more information.
