Going for gold on the track and in the classroom
"Sporting potential doesn’t need to come at the expense of academic success. With tailored and flexible timetables, as well as expert support, young athletes can also be champions of the classroom."

At MVA, students aged 11 to 18 can balance professional training and academic success, wherever they are in the world. With flexible online learning, expert mentoring, and a global community, MVA helps student-athletes stay on track, in the classroom and beyond.
We know that for young elite athletes, your sport isn’t just a passion — it’s your life. But your education doesn’t need to fall by the wayside.
At Minerva’s Virtual Academy, school is designed to work around your training and competition schedule, not the other way around. With a flexible, student-led approach and expert teaching, you can pursue both your academic and sporting ambitions without compromise.
As ex-professional athletes ourselves, we understand the demands and pressures you face. That’s why we’re proud to be part of a team that supports students with access to experienced mentors, sports psychologists, and a structure that genuinely understands life as an athlete.
You don’t have to choose between school and sport. You can do both, and we’re here to help you every step of the way.

That's fine, though we recommend studying from within 5 hours of UK time for the best experience. We have also recently launched a GST Timetable for students in Years 9 and 10 (ages 13–15). From September 2025, families across the Gulf, Middle East, East Africa, and neighbouring regions can join through a dedicated Gulf Standard Time (GST) timetable — designed to fit naturally around local routines and family life.
If you're an elite athlete, we can also fit your schooling around your sporting commitments.
We use a flipped learning model. Students begin each topic by working through content on our Virtual Learning Platform (Canvas), where they access videos, readings, and tasks at their own pace. Live Lessons then focus on deepening understanding, discussion, and applying what’s been learned. After the lesson, students return to the platform to consolidate their knowledge before moving on to the next module together.
Wellbeing is woven into everything we do. Alongside regular mentor check-ins, students have access to mindfulness sessions, social clubs, and dedicated pastoral support.
We use the 'Flipped Learning' teaching methodology in combination with personal mentoring. With a greater emphasis on self-study, young people in sport can manage their day in a way that suits them best.
"Minerva has been such a great fit for me, I’ve been able to balance my education with my horses.. The flexible timetable has enabled me to plan my training schedule without compromise."
