School can often feel like quite a distinct, contained part of life.
You learn, you grow, you develop relationships, and then you leave and have to figure out what comes next on your own.
At MVA, we're determined for that not to be the case.
This week has been our latest iteration of Enrichment Week, with a special focus on careers, apprenticeships, university, and the transition from the (virtual) classroom to the next step of the rest of a student's life.
To facilitate this, students have been treated to a fantastic suite of events, workshops, and talks with guest speakers from phenomenal companies including Lloyds Bank, Plan My Gap Year, Arden University, Unifrog, and many many more.
Even more excitingly, several MVA Parents volunteered to give their own talks about their careers, a fantastic example of MVA's thriving and compassionate wider community that Principal Suzanne Lindley celebrated in a recent parent newsletter.
Sessions covered apprenticeships, university, working with animals, finding work experience, how AI is going to change the future of work, and much, much more.
These sessions have been a huge success, and the feedback has been fantastic, with students reporting renewed confidence in their futures after MVA, and a real sense that the next steps, while significant, are far less daunting than perhaps they previously thought.
In the same vein, MVA's recent partnership with Varsity Nine is built to support our elite young athletes in securing valuable sports scholarships at top US universities should they wish to continue their studies alongside their training before launching into a full-time athletic career.
Ultimately, school is about preparing children to navigate the adult world of work, money, and ensuring they get the best start possible to the rest of their lives.
This week has been a massive step in that process, and we are deeply grateful to all the companies and speakers who took the time to help our students in their journey, as well as the faculty team who put this all together.
