How to Save the Great Barrier Reef
A Geography Taster Session with Rhys Williams, MVA Geography Teacher
Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is one of the most extraordinary ecosystems on Earth. It is home to thousands of species, visible from space, and vital to marine life and coastal communities. Climate change, pollution, and overfishing are placing this natural wonder under serious threat.
In this session you will explore why the reef is changing so quickly and how geography helps us understand both the challenges and the solutions. We will look at coral science, sustainable tourism, and the work being done to restore damaged areas. You will finish by creating your own action plan for reef recovery and discover how young people can play a part in protecting the world’s greatest reef.
