How to Save the Great Barrier Reef
A Geography Taster Session with Rhys Williams, MVA Geography Teacher

Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is one of the most extraordinary ecosystems on Earth. It is home to thousands of species, visible from space, and vital to marine life and coastal communities. Climate change, pollution, and overfishing are placing this natural wonder under serious threat.

In this session you will explore why the reef is changing so quickly and how geography helps us understand both the challenges and the solutions. We will look at coral science, sustainable tourism, and the work being done to restore damaged areas. You will finish by creating your own action plan for reef recovery and discover how young people can play a part in protecting the world’s greatest reef.

Come and experience a Live Lesson at MVA. We look forward to seeing you there!

Who is this event for?

This session is for parents and students who want to see how our live online classes actually work. During the lesson, you’ll get a first-hand feel for teaching that is:

  • Engaging and interactive designed to spark curiosity and invite students to take part
  • Relevant and inspiring based on real Key Stage 4 content taught by our specialist teachers
  • Built for online learning structured so students stay focused, supported and confident in a virtual classroom

It’s a chance to step inside a real MVA lesson, meet our teachers, and see what makes learning here feel different.
